About Us…

Our Junior Registration day is on Saturday the 20th of February 2010 at the Joseph Green Centre, Wesley College, with the Junior season commencing on the weekend of the 1st of May 2010.

If you want to be part of one of the larger clubs in Perth (Junior and Senior) then WASPS is the Club for you.

WASPS and the South Perth Women's Hockey Club merged in 2009, and we had over 220 players involved in Junior Hockey (under 11's through to under 17's), and about 140 children involved in our Minkey and Grads programs. We had eight WASPS junior hockey players representing Western Australia during the year in various age competitions.

In 2009 the grades were renamed to Junior 5/6, Junior 7/8, Junior 9/10, and Junior 11/12. This is a progressive move initiated by Hockey WA to reflect the half year intake date into school grades, and means that if you are in year 5 or year 6, then you play in Junior 5/6 and so on.

In 2010 we intend to continue the tradition of fielding 'A' teams in Junior grades as well as catering to players of all capabilities. With a wealth of player and coaching talent, WASPs can offer a great depth of knowledge and commitment to the game.

Whatever your level, goals and ambitions are in Hockey, WASPS have the ability to help you achieve, always remembering that Hockey needs to be family friendly and FUN - not just competitive.

Juniors progressing through the ranks have the opportunity to move into our senior teams, and we are represented across all major levels - from the AHG League right through to the more socially oriented Metro grades.

WASPS home grounds and clubroom, based at Richardson Park, Labouchere Road, in South Perth, has undergone extensive renovations and will be all fresh and new for the commencement of the 2010 season.
